nothing rhymes with blorange
book of lingwood updation. in no particular order...
crentist - went to see the dentist yesterday. no cavities but fawning praise was not showered as i had not been flossing on the regular (flossing my teeth, not flossin' "ice" or a "rolly").
fixed gear - finally got hip again and built up the old redline rain bike into a fixed gear training (tron-yang) machine. it is lubed up and ready to go. and it is pretty much awesome as it has a few high class leftover parts. however, it looks wierd without fenders.
truck - we find out about a truck tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day, next thursday at the latest. it was built last week and should arrive in the desert soon so we can hopefully buy it. alynda has her angry eyes on and is ready to play bad cop to my good cop. the garage is all cleaned out and ready for a 2nd vehicle, now we just need to park one there.
time wasting - for those lucky enough to have internet, go to hulu and watch parks and recreation. it's kind of "chicky" in that amy poehler is the main character and the driving force behind a lot of the jokes, but it is definately funny. the indian guy from that fruitstand episode of flight of the conchords is on it. check it out.
work - got a new work pager/phone today. it is ghetto and kind of a pain. but it is way way cooler than what we had before. especially better than what i had as charlie kindly tried to eat my old phone and chewed off the antenna. guess what i did with my new phone on the first day? i put a big ass scratch down the middle of the screen. fail. . .
work part 2 - times are a changin round the office. with the 35nm process breathing down our necks, everyone is changing jobs and responsibilities. so by this time next week, i may be able to see daylight on a work day. or i may be doomed to night shift forever, it's still up in the air. the fun part is not knowing! wait, no. . . the fun part is definately knowing, and i am always last to know.
family visitation - just as the cool weather is starting to blow into town, so begins the wave of family visitors. round 1 starts on saturday. if you are interested in bike riding in the sun this winter, email me now to reserve your spot on our calendar.
chili con carnival - i made chili but did not know if i was using pork or beef until everything was done cooking. it was a non-descript chunk of mystery meet that i had frozen during a meat sale at the safeway. turns out it was pork and it was delicious. thank god we are not kosher! (re-reading that i can't believe how wierd it sounds. . .). however, due to the swiney nature of meat, almost all of the fat cooked off and was sitting on top of the chili concoction in the slow cooker. so naturally i used a turkey baster to suck off the fat. unfortunately, i accidentally squirted milo with pork fat and charlie chased him around to hopefully get a delicious lick from his back. now that spot on milo's fur is all hard and dirty.
"you run like a lego man" - that's how alynda describes my running stride. good thing my hair looks like a lego man as well so i don't feel too wierd. . .got some new running shoes to do night runs during my 1am break at work. i made it past the point of everything aching and now only my right knee hurts. a couple weeks on the fixed gear should knock that right out!
cyclocross - just a few weeks until the first cross race. the downgrade is processed (i think i mentioned this) and i am ready for action! the cross bike is mostly ready to go. the tires are still fresh from last year, but the magic 8-ball has not gotten back to me on whether or not i should use the ksyriums. they look pretty cool, and they are old enough now to use for a cross bike...
i think that's it...hopefully because this post was epic. okay, until next time.
